U.P.C WON'T REGISTER: Walubiri

By Hussein Kaaka

The last funeral rites of the former Busoga UPC stalwart,
Juma Kyomi, on Monday turned into a campaign platform with
opposition politicians attacking the Movement government.

The Uganda People's Congress (UPC) national chairman,
Hajji Badru Wegulo, started it all, vowing that UPC would
overthrow President Yoweri Museveni from power in 2006
without using a bullet.

Wegulo told mourners at Kyomia's home in Busembatia,
Iganga
district, that the Movement government had instilled
fear among the electorate and fooled the population for 18
years.
The former Greenland Bank managing director, Hajji
Sulaiman Kiggundu, said he joined politics to oppose
dictatorship, life presidency and violation of the
Constitution. He appealed to the opposition to unite to dislodge
the Movement government from power.
Kiggundu hailed the UPC for being united....
UPC lawyer Peter Walubiri said the party would not register
until the Political Parties and Organisations Act was
amended.
Others at the funeral were former Mengo minister Sewava
Serubiri, Jennifer Nkalubo and Sheikh Annus Kinyiri
.
